Meat Sales Policy & Liability Disclaimer
⚠️ Mandatory Temperature & Processing Regulation
All meat products listed on Cropsell must be fully frozen or professionally cured in strict accordance with applicable federal, provincial, and local public health regulations. The listing of unfrozen, uninspected, or raw perishable meat is strictly prohibited.
1. Platform Directory Role
Cropsell operates solely as an advertising directory connecting buyers with local agricultural producers and vendors. Cropsell does not own, inspect, store, package, handle, hold, or transport any food or meat products listed on the website. All sales transactions, order fulfillments, and product transfers occur exclusively between the independent buyer and seller.
2. Vendor Requirements & Cold Chain Compliance
Any vendor or farm listing meat products (including beef, pork, poultry, lamb, goat, or game) on Cropsell agrees to the following strict requirements:
- Mandatory State / Processing Standards: All meat listed must be processed at a licensed, government-inspected facility and offered for sale exclusively in frozen or professionally cured condition.
- Cold Chain Integrity: Sellers are 100% responsible for maintaining continuous storage and transport temperatures at or below 0°F (-18°C) for frozen meat until ownership is transferred to the buyer.
- Licensing & Labeling: Vendors warrant that they possess all required farm-gate, retail, or mobile food handler permits, and that all packaging includes proper government inspection stamps, lot numbers, and safe handling instructions.
Vendor Indemnification Clause
By listing meat products on Cropsell, vendors explicitly agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cropsell, its operators, and parent companies against any claims, damages, liabilities, or regulatory fines arising from spoiled products, improper temperature handling, foodborne illness, or non-compliance with health laws.
3. Buyer Responsibility & Assumption of Risk
Buyers purchasing meat products located via Cropsell acknowledge and agree that:
- It is the buyer’s responsibility to inspect all packages upon pickup or delivery to ensure products are received fully frozen or properly sealed and cured.
- Proper food storage, thawing, cooking, and consumption handling pass entirely to the buyer upon receipt.
- Cropsell assumes no liability for health hazards, allergic reactions, foodborne illness, or improper home handling following transfer from the seller.
4. Violation & Listing Removal
Cropsell reserves the absolute right to immediately remove any listing, suspend seller accounts, or report vendors to public health agencies if a listing is suspected of violating food safety laws or offering fresh/unfrozen meat products.
